One of the big topics at this point of the season is Giles.
Anyone who has seen the episode "Sleeper" knows there is no way in hell he could have dodged that axe.
However he is in episode 7.10 and will remain for the rest of the season. The scary thing is we never really find out how he dodged the axe. Or if he even didged the axe at all.
Sources who have already seen the next episode have picked up on something straight away, Giles turns up with three slayers in waiting and has information.
The BIG thing about Giles in this episode is that he does NOT touch a single thing or person.
Does this mean he didn't dodge the axe and that he is dead and is now being used to play Buffy by Morphy?

Rarely do I make accurate predictions about the Buffyverse, except the Conner not staying a toddler for very long right on the money there!! ;D ;D I think I'll keep my huge mouth shut on this one really don't know where this season is going. I will say however that it has royally kicked some ass this year so far, some of the best eps in a long time. JM has been given the chance to flex his acting muscles in a big way and series is all the better for it, his performances have been outstanding all season as well as most of the writing been improved now that it seems to be intensely written by a few core writers-Marti, Dave and newboy Drew Goddard(I think thats his name). Everybody in the series has been given a chance to input something so far even Xander!!(usually relegated to Spike put-down boy or 2 lines an ep) I'm starting to slowly warm to Dawn now she's not as much of a spoiled brat and there's an actual story arc in place-not just join-the-dots planning. 1.decent season opener 2. many filler episodes 3.new big bad 4.Buffy find big bad 5.buffy get ass kicked 6.regroup-kill big bad 7.everyone ride into sunset. No.7 could well be my new favourite number if it goes on like this ;D NB it has to get nominated for some decent Emmy's this year, or I may just go ape-sh*t

I noticed Giles not touching anything either. He didn't knock on the door- he didn't hug Buffy-he didn't even carry the books, the SIT did but what caught my attention most was that he didn't help Buffy out of the hole when the vamp was after her. My first thought was that he had died and The First was indeed using him to get to Buffy-but the more I think about it, the more I think that's what Joss wants. So-then I think he's fine-just plain ole Giles. But maybe that's what Joss wants too. In six years, I've yet to guess any big thing-I'm always surprised. Just once I'd like to be right so I've decided to just wait before making a decesion! Watch another episode and see how I feel.

i was just logging in after watching the video tape carefully for a second time with intentions of making the giles=first connection. giles does sit down and lean a few times in the episode and the scene where he enters into kitchen behind buffy, he tries in earnest not to let the door touch him. i cannot tell if it does. but otherwise, he does not touch anything and i am especially convinced by the scene where the one slayer takes out all of the council research, not giles. he is also really pessimistic and knowledgable about the first. i also noticed some focused camera shots that implied that everything buffy was preaching was aimed at giles. we will see.
