Has anyone else read this fantastic piece of literature by the talented Chris Golden. I recently bought it and quickly read it within a couple of days. It was fantastic and I could not put it down, the characters come alive in the novel (although the narrative does tend to lean in favour of Spike over Dru but that is not necessarily a bad thing, Drusilla is like a punctuation mark to Spike's highly engaging sentence) and when describing the couples encounters with the slayer of the time I could really see the scene in my mind and actually felt the action unfolding before me. Also Golden has a nack for capturing the characters way of communicating, the only criticism is Spike's sometimes laborious use of the obligatry Queen's cokerney accent. I would recommend this novel to anyone with an interest in Buffy, however if you like the current nice as pie spike in the series you will be shocked at some of his actions in this novel. The gruesome twosome are on fine evil form here, enjoy! (can't you feel the tension in the traincar in America)

Finally...........Rogue has read "Pretty Maids All in a Row."
I have very mixed feelings after putting the book down. The first was wow. It is a deeply amazing book and Golden has written it in such a way that the picture painted in my mind was truley outstanding, something that could never be done on the Show. However I also felt a little robbed. At the end of the book I did realises that everything I read had no connections at all to the show and I suppose that is weak coming from an official Buffy Novel.
By saying that though I am not saying the book is bad because it isn't it a fantastic read and I managed to read it in two long spells over a couple of days. It really is worth the money as Golden does the perfect job of showing what Spike and Dru should be and the fact that its now in paperback for only £5.99 (Sorry Americans) should make you move that bit faster to the bookstore...

True it can't really relate to the series but you have to remember that it was written a few years ago so it is not really Chris Golden's fault.
It does show who Spike and Dru should be and does kind of explore their relationship, at least more than it was in the series.
I also think that Drusilla has been criminally underused in the series, she gets to shine in the book but both Drusilla and Juliet Landau deserve some big storylines to allow them to come out of the wings and become a more important character in B/A. ( Like converting Pretty Maids' as we have already discussed)
