has anyone asked this before? shouldn't there be a third slayer somewhere? buffy died for a minute, came back, and kendra was called. kendra died and faith came. at the end of season five i think it was with glory, buffy died yet again. why is there no new slayer called after this death?

Joss was very very quick to explain this. When a slayer dies this causes the activation of another slayer. The thing is Buffy was brought back, but even though she still has all her powers she has used her activation of another slayer already and so when she died again it wouldn't activate anyone else.
The next slayer to get called up will be when Faith Dies, so until then...

looking forward to having two slayers in one town with the rumours surrounding Faith's 'probable' re-appearance, now they can kick a little demon ass! As usual I think the Slayer dying thing is something the writers think up cause its good at the time but later have to back-track a little, think of the Spike sire business. oh yeah and I really hope that Dawn isn't a slayer in any future spin off scenarios, that would suck  |

 Shouldn't there only be one slayer? When slayers die and activate the next, don't they pass on their abilities?So when buffy died, wouldnt kendra have inherited buffy's abilities and left buffy as a normal person when she was resuscitated
