Hey Neomatrix, let me be the first to say welcome to the boards.
I think we can expect to see a pretty normal Dawn from now on.
But like yourself I have heard rumours about Dawn becoming a Slayer. However Dawn is about 15 on the show now and is she was a "Slayer in Waiting" then she would have a Watcher training her now. Buffy slipped through the net and to have two slayers from the same family "slip" would be pretty sad.
But we can never question what the great one, Sir Joss of Whedon will do next, for the moment I just can't wait for the Giles Spin-Off.

ee up duck ow at or wot? Sorry, that was a welcome to Neomatrix in my native accent from a place known mysteriously as 'that crap hole where Robbie Williams is from' or the potteries. ;D Firstly when Buffy dies for good I think the show ends, fullstop, as she is the central character and its kind of strange thinking of it without her. However this does lead to the area of spinoffs from btvs, of which the upcoming Giles BBC series is one. Expectations are running high for this, and I personally hopes it delivers the goods, although I do have a few reservations. Firstly its set over here, which is a good thing. But I'm just not sure about Americans writing from the point of view of English people as its set in Bath. Don't get me wrong some of the dialogue in btvs is quite true to life but some of it is just absurd (Fool for Love: flashback to William: posh English people who take the p**s: worst english accents i have ever heard: apart from JM who probably took some pointers from ASH). Also there are planned moves to have characters from Buffy in the Giles spin off. Not a bad idea but I would like to see it stand on its own two feet without reaching for tenuous links to btvs. I like the idea of having the Spike character over here its just that he is an American playing English written by Americans from an American TV show, having him in England will reveal the flaws in his accent and the flaws present in writing for him. I love the Spike character but think he should stay stateside.
